Interim Religious School Director: Rabbi Joui Hessel

Rabbi Hessel currently serves as the Acting Religious School Director. This position includes an overall responsibility for all aspects of school operation, including the managing and supervising of the Senior Education Team staff as well as overseeing the overall program structure, teaching strategies, staff development programming, syllabi and curriculum. Rabbi Hessel serves as a partner to parents and students in developing a stronger Jewish identity through formal and informal Jewish education.

Suzanne Davidson

Suzanne Klein Davidson creates, develops, supervises and coordinates the curriculum material, classroom activities (such as Learning Days, Centers Days, Israeli Dance, Tefillah and Music schedules) and faculty for grades K-2 Primary Department, grades 3-6 Judaic Studies and grades 3-7 Hebrew Studies. Mrs. Davidson is always available to families whose children attend religious school at JBSC regarding any issue or concern related to school. Mrs. Davidson works in conjunction with Mrs. Tankel (Assistant Principal, Temple) so as to maintain an integrated and confluent curriculum between our congregation's two buildings. Mrs. Davidson serves as a senior building administrator at JBSC on school days.

Stephanie Tankel

Stephanie Tankel creates, develops, supervises and coordinates the curriculum material, classroom activities (such as Learning Days, Centers Days, Israeli Dance, Tefillah and Music schedules) and faculty for grades K-2 Primary Department, grades 3-6 Judaic Studies and grades 3-7 Hebrew Studies. Mrs. Tankel is always available to families whose children attend religious school at Temple regarding any issue or concern related to school. Mrs. Tankel works in conjunction with Mrs. Davidson (Assistant Principal, JBSC) so as to maintain an integrated and confluent curriculum between our congregation's two buildings. Mrs. Tankel serves as a senior building administrator at Temple on school days.
 

Upper School Chavaya Coordinator (Grades 8-9)

Ira Miller

 Ira Miller, Director of Informal Education, directly supervises and coordinates all programs in the eighth and ninth grade program, including retreats, classes and all other special events for those grades. He serves as the primary teacher contact regarding educational needs and consults with teachers as necessary to assure proper implementation of the curriculum. Lastly, Mr. Miller is always available to our teens and their parents regarding any issue or concern related to their Jewish education.

7th Grade Jewish Studies Coordinator

Dan Caplan

Dan Caplan directly supervises and coordinates all programs in the Seventh Grade Judaic Studies program, including special events like sleepovers, grade-wide programs and the Wax Museum. He serves as the primary teacher contact regarding educational needs and consults with teachers as necessary to assure proper implementation of the curriculum. Mr. Caplan is available to respond to parental inquiries regarding their children's progress and contacts parents to discuss learning, adjustments or discipline problems.
